Gensyn (AI) is now available to trade on Uphold

Gensyn (AI) is now available on Uphold, giving you a simple way to buy, sell, convert, deposit, and withdraw AI in one place.

What is Gensyn (AI)?

In short, Gensyn is the network and AI is its native token — the asset you trade on Uphold.

Gensyn is decentralized infrastructure where human knowledge and machine intelligence converge -- enabling AI to train, verify, trade and evolve. The a16z crypto-backed network serves as an open infrastructure layer that connects global compute resources for machine learning, with its economy aggregating human insight into prices while neural networks distill data patterns into predictions, all powered by the AI token.

Founded in 2020 in London by Ben Fielding (CEO, PhD in Computer Science from Northumbria University) and Harry Grieve (CTO), Gensyn has raised approximately $66.7 million across four rounds, including a Series A led by a16z crypto with participation from CoinFund, Galaxy Digital, Eden Block, and Maven 11.

The role of the AI token

The AI token is the native asset of the Gensyn network. It is used for:

  • Compute payments: ML tasks and network services are denominated and settled in AI.
  • Staking: Validators stake AI to participate in ML verification and secure the network.
  • Governance: Token holders vote on protocol parameters.

Available on Uphold

You can now buy, sell, deposit, and withdraw AI directly on Uphold.
