Talent Protocol (TALENT) Describes Itself As

Talent Protocol is an open and verifiable professional reputation system designed to help talented individuals, particularly builders in Web3, stand out by bringing their professional credentials onchain. The project aims to solve the inefficiencies in job recruitment and hiring by consolidating fragmented professional reputation data into one transparent, verifiable source. Its key components include the Talent Passport (a smart resume), the Talent API (a data-driven system), and the TALENT token (the utility token for the protocol).

The project's mission is to help the next generation of builders succeed by bringing their reputation onchain, where data speaks louder than words. 

Project Function

Talent Protocol’s primary utility lies in improving talent discovery and verification across industries by introducing a portable, verifiable reputation system. The platform connects with several data sources (e.g., GitHub, LinkedIn, Coinbase) to pull in achievements, contributions, and endorsements, which are then aggregated into a Talent Passport—an AI-powered professional profile. These credentials are categorized into Identity, Activity, and Skills, which collectively generate a Builder Score, offering a real-time evaluation of a user’s expertise and accomplishments.

The Talent API enables developers, recruiters, and organizations to access professional reputation data and integrate it into their platforms. Talent Protocol is already partnered with major industry players such as Base, Etherscan, and Coinbase. Its data can be used for recruitment, educational matching, or even financial applications like under-collateralized lending.

Token Utility

TALENT is the utility token of Talent Protocol, and serves several key functions, including:

• Increase Trust & Visibility: Users can deposit TALENT to increase their Builder Score and access premium features, or spend to invest in other builders! 
• Data Operations: TALENT is used to pay for the minting of Builder Scores and Credentials, exclusive Builder Perks, as well as Talent API access and Talent Pro plans.
• Verified Data: Both users and applications are rewarded in TALENT for referring quality users. Developers can earn by building custom credentials, and Talent can further earn from paid searches to their profiles. 

About the Team

Talent Protocol is led by Pedro Oliveira, Francisco Leal, and Filipe Macedo. The project has gained backing from prominent venture funds, including Protocol Labs, GSR, and Jump, as well as angel investors from major projects like Celo and Anchorage.

Risks of TALENT

Prior to listing TALENT on the Uphold Platform, Uphold performed due diligence on TALENT and determined that TALENT is unlikely to be a security or derivative under relevant securities legislation. Uphold’s analysis including reviewing publicly available information on the following: 

• The creation, governance, usage, and design of TALENT, including ensuring the source code is open-source, audited and peer reviewed, security, and roadmap for growth in the developer community. 
• The supply, demand, maturity, utility, and liquidity of TALENT.
• Any marketing materials put forward by the TALENT social team including on, Twitter, Medium blog, LinkedIn posts, Discord and Telegram channels.
• Material technical risks associated with TALENT, including any code defects, security breaches and other threats concerning TALENT and its supporting blockchain (such as the susceptibility to hacking and impact of forking), or the practices and protocols that apply to them.
• Legal and regulatory risks associated with TALENT, including any pending, potential, or prior civil, regulatory, criminal, or enforcement action relating to the issuance, distribution, or use of TALENT.
