What is Gods Unchained (GODS) and how does it work?

Drawing inspiration from Magic: The Gathering, Gods Unchained is a blockchain-based trading card game that leverages a play-to-earn (P2E) framework.

GODS is the protocol’s native currency. It’s a governance/utility token used to buy in-game items and pay transaction fees. GODS enables holders to vote on future changes to the protocol and can be staked to the protocol in exchange for additional monetary rewards, according to Messari.

Gods Unchained is backed by Immutable X, a layer-2 scaling solution tailored to serve non-fungible tokens (NFTs) operating within the Ethereum ecosystem. As of June 2021, the protocol’s asset base has been fully transitioned to Immutable X. According to Messari, the upgrade has led to measurable improvements to user experience and faster transaction speeds.

Similar to its physical counterparts, such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon, Gods Unchained allows players to collect, swap and sell unique trading cards. Each card within the ecosystem exists as an NFT, minted by Immutable X.

Cards can also be bought and sold freely via the protocol’s secondary marketplace. According to Decrypt, players receive 70 free cards upon signing up for the game. Additional cards are distributed via “packs,” earned though the game’s P2E mechanics or purchased with additional external funds.

0x, created by Will Warren and Amir Bandeali in 2016, is an open-source protocol designed to facilitate the peer-to-peer exchange of Ethereum tokens. The 0x platform allows the exchange of tokenized assets such as stocks, gold, real estate, and certain financial services. The goal is to promote interoperability between decentralized applications (DApps), which include decentralized exchanges (DEX).

The parties operating the DEX and building on 0x are known as relayers. They host off-chain order books and have the option to charge for their work. 0x itself does not stipulate that users have to pay to use the platform.

The ZRX token has two main use cases within the blockchain. The first is paying relayers for their services. The second to empower ZRX token holders to have a say in the blockchain’s governance. This gives the project decentralization: all holders of ZRX have a say over how the project is run, proportional to what they hold.  

Simply put, 0x is trying to make it easier to switch from one token to another on the blockchain. It accomplishes this by making token exchange much faster. 

Traditional cryptocurrency exchanges are expensive, which is one of the problems 0x is trying to address. Even for decentralized exchanges, 0x is looking to reduce costs and address slow transaction times, and lack of liquidity. 

Unlike most decentralized ledgers, which record every transaction on the blockchain, 0x instead waits for transactions to settle off-chain before sending the orders on-chain. 

0x has capped ZRX supply at 1 billion tokens. 500 million were sold to the public through an initial coin offering (ICO) for a total of $24 million dollars.

Too tied to Ethereum:
The 0x protocol was designed to be used on the Ethereum network with ERC-20 tokens.
Ethereum faces stiff competition from emerging networks such as EOS, Cardano, and more. For 0x to succeed, Ethereum must also.

Many analysts thought that decentralized exchanges would change the way investors trade due to their lower fees and faster transaction times, But Exchanges such as Binance & Coinbase show that users are more concerned by user experience than fees.

A credible protocol that is running DApps:

Governance token for the Axie Infinity game, AXS lets holders (as opposed to developers) shape the game’s direction and help populate its Pokémon-inspired universe of cartoon creatures. AXS is earned and staked along the way. 

An Ethereum-run ERC-20 token, AXS has risen up quickly just like the Axie project with which it is connected. Axie can be considered a non-fungible token (NFT) sales machine. Its play-to-earn model exploded in popularity during the summer of 2021, garnering one million daily users and generating more than $2 billion worth of NFT transaction volume. 

Entry into this digital domain does not cheap, as Decrypt has noted. "An NFT acts like a deed of ownership to a digital item, or, in this case, an interactive creature, or a chunk of customizable terrain." To play, you need three NFTs each costing at least $150 worth of ETH, "a sizable upfront investment that hasn’t deterred the project’s exponential growth of late," Decrypt said. 

Building a hearty platoon of Axies and conquering all comers requires an even larger investment; and players can create their own kingdoms, build empires, looping in allies, raising the potential to earn that much more. 

This NFT-based video game was developed three years ago by Vietnamese game developer Sky Mavis. In May of 2021, the startup raised $7.5 million from a group of backers that included entrepreneur/Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Blocktower, one of the first crypto hedge funds.

As of early October 2021, AXS was roughly $130, or more than  100,000% higher than where it sat in November of 2020.

AXS's market capitalization is roughly $8 billion, making it the 24th-largest crypto asset, as ranked by CoinGecko. During the course of a few days in early October, AXS doubled to a new all-time high of $155 as of Oct. 4, 2021. One day later, it fell 15%.

During a roughly three-month stretch (mid-May 2021 through early August) as major coins, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, fell sharply, AXS began to climb steadily. On Sept. 4, 2021, AXS reached an all-time high of just above $93. Then it sold off sharply. Late August/early September was a period when crypto at large began to regain momentum which waned later in September against a backdrop of global macro forces that left BTC down 7% for the month of September, in contrast to AXS which remained flat.

Public and private sales of AXS took place at the end of 2020. As a result, AXS has a circulating supply of 58 million coins, out of a total supply of 270 million. It is one of two tokens in the Axie universe, with Smooth Love Potion (SLP) being the other. That humorously named coin gets used purely for in-game rewards. Supply is unlimited. Any collected SLP gets burned by the Axie treasury.

As for AXS, and its limited supply, competitors earn it, and use it to fund the breeding of their cute cartoon combatants; AXS has seen growing demand, and, owing to the limited supply, its price can greatly fluctuate.

AXS token supply distribution, per its website, is as follows: 49% for in-game rewards by either playing or staking AXS; 8% for community growth and development; 21% for Sky Mavis and the team; 7% for advisors; 15% for the AXS private and public sales.

If there are fewer new users in the future and the number of Axies keeps increasing, it will either reduce its valuation or collapse."

"There is a bearish scenario for Axie Infinity price that would terminate any near-term bullish sentiment – and the move on the short side is considerably larger than any upside potential." - FXStreet.

An Ethereum-based (ERC-20) token, the Curve DAO Token governs/empowers (by being locked into) Curve Finance, a decentralized exchange (DEX)/automated market maker (AMM) protocol specifically geared toward the efficient swapping a handful of kindred ERC-20 stablecoin assets on the Ethereum blockchain (e.g. WBTC and renBTC). Ethereum-based stablecoin-pairs-trading activity was seen as needlessly expensive, so, circa December 2019, Curve's founder, Russian physicist Michael Egorov, and his team set out to solve that.

Curve's liquidity pools pair up similar assets to keep volatility at bay within pools so as to minimize that strange and seemingly contradictory DeFi phenomenon known as "impermanent loss," which is when the price of an asset within an AMM's liquidity pool diverges away from the price of that asset outside of the liquidity pool resulting in a (merely temporary) imbalance.

In the early summer of 2021, Curve introduced its "TriCrypto" pool for yield farmers to lock in, and earn sizable yields from, one of a trio of assets, Tether (USDT), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and/or Wrapped Ethereum (WETH), while also minimizing slippage.

Curve in September of 2021 launched on Arbitrum, a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum. Instead of settling individual trades on Ethereum’s mainnet, as Decrypt noted, Curve's activities are batched and periodically settled, reducing congestion and transaction costs.

As of mid-September 2021, CRV was roughly $2.90, or more than 700% higher than where it sat in November of 2020.

CRV's market capitalization is roughly $1.2 billion, making it the 95th-largest crypto asset, as ranked by CoinGecko.

In the wake of the crypto-wide crash in May of 2021, CRV fell from nearly $4 down to less than $2 but by June it recovered, then spent the summer choppily trudging back toward $3. Unlike other DeFi tokens, CRV has remained fairly grounded owing in part to its cautiously deflationary nature.

The total supply of CRV tokens has been capped at 1.6 billion tokens; the rate of new tokens entering circulation has begun to slow. There was no initial coin offering (ICO) on which to peg CRV's original valuation; in fact, in one of the oddest releases of a token possibly ever, an anonymous developer(OxChad) on August 13, 2020, used a publicly available smart contract code on Curve DAO's Github to "pre-mine" 80,000 tokens and then took to Twitter to rather abruptly announce that the CRV DAO accepted the token launch, taking the development team by surprise. Due to the token gaining traction, Curve Finance declared they had no choice but to go along with it. CRV was launched. Initially, CRV traded on Uniswap, rocketing above $1,000 but, after some major exchanges listed it, CRV was in the $50 range although that only lasted a few days. As of Aug. 17, amidst confusion about the controversial debut, and with then-still-minimal supply, CRV went to $4.

The circulating supply of CRV is estimated to be around 400 million. 

When CRV launched, some 5% of the initial supply was set aside for early liquidity providers, a reward that vested over the course of the first year, so that allocation, as of mid-August 2021, was unlocked. CRV is used in rewarding liquidity providers.

The mining of CRV tokens is through stake drop and mining by way of yield farming.

Users who opt to stake their tokens directly on Curve Finance are offered an average APY of 21% and are given vote-escrowed CRV (veCRV) in exchange, which, Cointelegraph said, allows participation in governance votes that take place on the protocol. 

For liquidity miners who are using Curve’s gauge system, total daily rewards will drop from about 752,918.6 to 633,126.5 CRV, meaning new circulating supply on a daily basis has now dropped by nearly 30%, The Defiant's Brady Dale said. 

This could drive CRV's price higher if demand continues to rise while the available supply declines.

According to Cointelegraph, there are three reasons why Curve DAO Token (CRV) is attracting the attention of analysts and these include attractive yields offered to token holders who participate in staking; competition for CRV deposits on multiple DeFi platforms; and healthy earnings for the Curve protocol as a whole, despite the market downturn.

CRV has been one of the most sought-after governance tokens since its launch in 2020, The Defiant's Brady Dale said.

Blockgeeks has said the Curve platform has become one of the best DeFi platforms to earn stable returns on locked coins and trade altcoins.

Those speculating on CRV really need to exercise caution because it is very risky, Boxmining said.

Technically, per TheMarketPeriodical, the CRV price as of mid-September sustains around "pivot zones" and continues in a downtrend. Accordingly, the trend remained bearish heading into the fourth quarter of 2021.

From The Market Periodical in fall of 2021: "After rejecting $3.4 on September 16, the bull rally of CRV token entered into a minor retracement state. Such pullbacks are mostly healthy to maintain a stable rally; however, the price has dropped more than the expectation."
