Crypto Sharply Rebounds

Topsy-turvy Asian chip stocks made a beeline for greener pastures early Tuesday, inspiring a mud-bound crypto sector. Waving farewell to a spongy wasteland (in the range of $60K-$64K going back one month), the most famous of all digital assets lit off for the nearby midlands of $66,000 to begin its morning.

Yesterday saw the fifth straight trading day in which U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs garnered positive flows. Some $600M has come in the door during this stretch.

A slew of big altcoins, including ETH, XRP and SOL, have surged ahead 3%-4% in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the DeFi-meets TradFi trend continues to manifest via industrywide tokenization efforts, helping to spur Ondo’s native ONDO, up 15% in the past day, according to CoinGecko.

On top of Asian semiconductor shares rebounding — MSCI's Asia Pacific equities index climbed 2% for its first gain in four sessions — oil prices this morning have dipped. This comes amidst reports of a new 10-day ceasefire proposal. Last night marked ten consecutive nights of U.S. attacks on Iran.

DeXe Gets Furiously Dumped

Eight days after reaching its all-time high, DeXe (DEXE) is in full retreat.

The protocol for autonomously managing governance functions had recently reportedly enjoyed a summer spike in AI-project-related demand, pushing native DEXE to nearly $49, a record high, as of July 13. Since then, said CoinGecko, DEXE has shed 70% of its market capitalization as a wave of rampant profit-reaping has mercilessly unfurled. The brunt of the beastly goring has come over the past 24 hours. With a market cap of roughly $1.4B, DEXE remains the 55th-largest coin on the CoinGecko Top 100.

Congressional Hurdle Bounding Exercise Yields Promising Development

President Trump’s recent disclosures revealing he’d raked in huge profits from a range of activities in the crypto industry has sharply refocused attention on conflicts and the need for safeguards. The ethical issue has been a tall hurdle as Congress endeavors to pass a broad set of market structure rules.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle in conjunction with the White House have debated the possibility of provisions to prevent or limit elected officials from profiting off digital assets.

On Monday, an industry source told The Block that, after months of negotiations, an agreement had been reached — with Trump signing off — on an ethics provision to be written into the bill.

Dubbed the Clarity Act, the bill's aim is to, for the first time, regulate the blockchain industry comprehensively at the federal level, as The Block explained.

Earlier on Monday, PunchbowlNews reported on the emergence of the White House-approved provision, apparently crafted last week during a meeting that was attended by Trump, two Republican Senators and the White House’s crypto point man, Patrick Witt.

PunchBowlNews also pointed out the Democrats had not yet seen the text.
