What Is Concordium (CCD)?

Uphold has expanded its digital asset offering with the listing of CCD, the native token of Concordium, a Protocol-level Privacy Infrastructure Layer-1 built for the next-generation internet.

Concordium is designed to support real-world financial activity through compliance-ready architecture. It enables institutions, enterprises, and developers to build applications that require transparency, and accountability without sacrificing blockchain efficiency or user privacy.

CCD powers transactions, staking, governance, and emerging PayFi applications across the Concordium ecosystem.

Protocol-Level Identity With Privacy Preservation

Concordium is the first public blockchain to embed identity and privacy at the protocol level.

Every account is linked to a real-world identity verified off-chain by an independent Identity Provider.

At the same time, Concordium preserves user privacy through Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs), enabling selective disclosure of attributes such as age or jurisdiction without exposing personal data on-chain.

Concordium's privacy with accountability architecture makes it suitable for regulated, institutional, and compliance-heavy use cases while maintaining strong privacy.

Predictable, Fiat-Pegged Transaction Fees

To eliminate the unpredictability of gas fees, Concordium implements transaction costs pegged to fiat currency (EUR).

While fees are paid in CCD, the required amount automatically adjusts based on the token’s market price ensuring stable, predictable costs even during market volatility.

The Role of CCD

CCD is the Concordium’s  native utility token and plays a central role in the Concordium ecosystem:

  • Paying for transactions and smart contract execution
  • Securing the network through Proof-of-Stake
  • Enabling staking and delegation rewards
  • Supporting on-chain governance and future PayFi use cases
