Token Description & Project Background

Constellation Network is a directed acyclic graph-backed protocol that is geared towards supporting enterprise-focussed applications.

From a technical standpoint, Constellation seeks to differentiate itself from other Layer-0 protocols by using a process whereby independent state channels are built on top of the Hypergraph, a directed acyclic graph-based ledger which the team claims operates at near infinite scale and within an environment completely void of transaction fees.

Constellation Labs, the firm tasked with overseeing network development, was created by Benjamin Jorgensen, Benjamin Diggles, Mathias Goldman, and Wyatt Meldman-Floch in 2017.

DAG is the network’s native utility token, which is primarily used to reward node operators for securing the network.

Risks of DAG

Like an investment in other crypto assets, there are some general risks to investing in DAG. These include:  (i) volatility risk and liquidity risk, (ii) short history risk, (iii) demand risk, (iv) forking risk, (v) code defects, (vi) regulatory risk, (vii) electronic trading risk, and (viii) cyber security risk. For additional information of these and other general risks associated with crypto assets and Uphold’s platform, please refer to the Risks Specific to Holding Digital Assets statement.

In addition to these general risks, an investment in DAG is subject to the following specific risks:

  • Whilst claiming to be designed to handle ‘big data’, the Constellation network has yet to be subjected to real-world testing. Any potential success associated with the DAG token depends on Constellation’s adoption rate by governments, enterprises, and projects.

We emphasize that this Crypto Asset Statement is not an exhaustive description or summary of all risks associated with DAG. Investors should conduct their own research and perform their own assessment before trading any crypto asset to determine the appropriate level of risk for their personal circumstances.
