Token Description & Project Background

Loopring is a zero-knowledge rollups Layer-2 solution for operating a decentralized orderbook based exchange. The first version of Loopring launched in December 2017 with zk-rollup version 3 launching in late 2019. 

Trades can be performed across exchanges, with Loopring providing a decentralized system for boosting liquidity and lowering risks. Loopring uses a "ring-matching" approach, breaking orders into smaller parts and then placing them on multiple markets simultaneously

Loopring was founded by Daniel Wang and Jay Zhou in Shanghai, China. Daniel Wang operated a centralized exchange in China called Coinport previously.

LRC is the protocol’s Ethereum-run governance token.

  • The creation, governance, usage, and design of LRC, including ensuring the source code is open-source, audited and peer reviewed, security, and roadmap for growth in the developer community. 
  • The supply, demand, maturity, utility, and liquidity of LRC.
  • Any marketing materials put forward by the LRC social team including on, Twitter, Medium blog, LinkedIn posts, Discord and Telegram channels.
  • Material technical risks associated with LRC, including any code defects, security breaches and other threats concerning LRC and its supporting blockchain (such as the susceptibility to hacking and impact of forking), or the practices and protocols that apply to them.
  • Legal and regulatory risks associated with LRC, including any pending, potential, or prior civil, regulatory, criminal, or enforcement action relating to the issuance, distribution, or use of LRC.
